Softball Recap: Loris Triumphs

After only two runs in their last matchup, Loris made sure to put some runs up on the board against Georgetown on Tuesday. Loris came out on top against Georgetown by a score of 11-7. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Caitie Black and Kenzie McCoy did most of the damage at the plate: Black scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5, while McCoy scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs Black has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Spence, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Loris back to even at 5-5-1. As for Georgetown, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Loris will square off against Chardon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Georgetown, they will welcome Aynor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Aynor's pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so Georgetown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
