Softball Game Preview: Sheridan Generals vs. West Muskingum Tornadoes

The Sheridan Generals will challenge the West Muskingum Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sheridan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Last Wednesday, Sheridan got the win against River View by a conclusive 14-3. Considering the Generals have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, West Muskingum unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against New Lexington, falling 9-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Tornadoes couldn't push the score so high this time.

West Muskingum saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lydiah Huey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Sheridan pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for West Muskingum, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Sheridan beat West Muskingum 6-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
