Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Leo Lions on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Saints: when they faced off against the Lions on May 1st, they had to take a 10-7 defeat.

Avianna Vasquez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Gillespie, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
