Recap: Lewisburg vs. Lafayette

When you finish with 260.8 more yards than your opponent, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. Lafayette put the hurt on Lewisburg with a sharp 35-6 win. That's another feather in the cap for Lafayette, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Lafayette started the contest off right with 28 first-half points. Meanwhile, Lewisburg couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 28-0 heading into the break. The Lafayette defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game.

Lafayette's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but senior Jamie Shaw jr led the charge as he rushed for 92 yards and 1 touchdown. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Samuel Woodall, who racked up nine tackles.

Next week Lafayette take on Grenada at LAFAYETTE HS at 7:00 PM. Lafayette will be strutting in after a victory while Grenada will be stumbling in from a defeat. As for Lewisburg, they will face off against Center Hill.
