Softball Recap: Atchison County Takes a Loss

Atchison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 18-4 to the Horton Chargers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Alexis Ellerman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those hits marked the first that she got this season.

Atchison County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Horton, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-9 record.

Atchison County has already played their next contest, a 23-4 loss against Jackson Heights on the 12th. Hopefully Horton payed attention to the Tigers' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
