Football Game Preview: Spring Creek Spartans vs. Dayton Dust Devils

Spring Creek is a perfect 6-0 against Dayton since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spartans will host the Dust Devils at 7:00 p.m. Dayton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Spring Creek, who comes in off a win.

Spring Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Lowry 42-0 on Friday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Buckaroos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

McCoy McArtor was his usual excellent self, rushing for 174 yards and three scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 69 yards and one touchdown on only six passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Snowdon Bear Williams also helped with two TDs in total.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Bear Williams, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Dayton's offense. They had to suffer through a 53-0 loss at the hands of Churchill County. The Dust Devils haven't had much luck with the Greenwave recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Spring Creek, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
