Football Game Preview: Lecanto Panthers vs. Citrus Hurricanes

The Lecanto Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Citrus Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Lecanto ended up a good deal behind Vanguard and lost 20-3. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Knights are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, Citrus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 47-3 loss at the hands of Weeki Wachee.

Citrus' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Lecanto, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Lecanto against Citrus in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 60-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
