Springfield got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They put the hurt on the Miamisburg Vikings with a sharp 3-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Springfield can attribute much of their success to Caelyn Cave, who had ten digs and two assists. That's the most assists Cave has posted over her last six contests.

Springfield was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.
