Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trego). They were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over the Plainville Cardinals on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 47-30 last Saturday.

Leading Trego to victory were Bailey Ziegler and Leah Day. Ziegler almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 11 rebounds, and nine blocks, while Day dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Ziegler is now averaging an impressive 2.5 blocks per game. Tegan Lang was another key player, going 6 of 15 on her way to 13 points and eight boards.

Trego smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Plainville's loss came despite strong showings from Shelby Molina and Chasey Bittel. Molina posted 17 points and four steals, while Bittel dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Trego's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Plainville, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-10.

Trego will challenge Thomas More Prep-Marian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trego has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Plainville, they will face off against Russell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
