Volleyball Recap: Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lutheran lost against St. Paul Lutheran back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Knights lost 3-0 to the Saints.

Lutheran took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 27-25.

Their offense was headlined by Shiloh Gerard and Shine Gerard, who picked up five kills apiece. They were helped by Hailey Cochran and Kate Mahnken, who contributed nine assists each. Finally, Mahnken was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Lutheran has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for St. Paul Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Bishop Seabury Academy on the 25th. St. Paul Lutheran has also already played their next matchup (against Orrick), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
