Football Game Preview: Western Alamance Warriors vs. South Granville Vikings

The Western Alamance Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Granville Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Western Alamance is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Southern Alamance on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors came up short against the Patriots, falling 27-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Granville, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against J.F. Webb by a score of 20-8 on Thursday.

The critical scores for South Granville came from Tyrell Thornton, Kaiden Curtis, and Jaylen Wilkerson.

South Granville pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.7 points over those games. As for Western Alamance, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Western Alamance has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 181.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like South Granville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 167.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
