Volleyball Recap: Rising Sun Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Rising Sun had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Morristown Yellow Jackets. The Shiners haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Rising Sun not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Morristown between 16 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16.

Ryan Works paced Rising Sun's offense, picking up seven kills. Works got some help from Reese Merica and her 12 assists. Avery Elliott controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Rising Sun has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Edinburgh on the 16th. As for Morristown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Eastern Hancock on the 16th.
