Softball Recap: Osceola's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Osceola entered their tilt with Lake Buena Vista on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Vipers get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Kowboys, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Samanthalea Edwards made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Osceola let Tenley Dawson and Destiny Ferrer run wild. Dawson scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Ferrer scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. What's more, Dawson posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Kimberly Rios also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Osceola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .696. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Buena Vista only posted an OBP of .000.

Osceola's record is now 8-3. As for Lake Buena Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Osceola will welcome Waverly Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Buena Vista, they will host Windermere at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
