Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tanisha Myers and Shantavia Hilliard Lead Green Sea Floyds to Victory

Green Sea Floyds hadn't done well against Lake View recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Green Sea Floyds Trojans strolled past the Lake View Wild Gators with points to spare, taking the game 39-25. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly 14 points.

Green Sea Floyds was led to victory by Shantavia Hilliard and Tanisha Myers. Hilliard dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Myers posted seven points along with 18 boards and five steals. Myers is becoming a predictor of Green Sea Floyds' success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 5-10 when she doesn't). Janyrah McClleod was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

The win made it two in a row for Green Sea Floyds and bumps their season record up to 7-11. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-13 Hannah-Pamplico and 4-9 Lake View. As for Lake View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
