It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Riverdale can now relate to. They were dealt a 47-18 loss at the hands of the Maryville Red Rebels on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this game were averaging 13.92 points allowed.

When it comes to explaining why Riverdale lost, don't look at Corben Reynolds. Despite the final result, he picked up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Maryville, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Riverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maryville, they will venture away from home to square off against Blackman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Red Rebels 8.9, the Blaze 10.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
