Basketball Recap: Gueydan Comes Up Short

Gueydan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Ascension Episcopal 64-20. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Ascension Episcopal this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-24 back in January.

Gueydan's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Ascension Episcopal, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Gueydan and Ascension Episcopal will both be playing Vermilion Catholic the next time they take the court. The Bears will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Ascension Episcopal will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
