Recap: Viborg/Hurley Cougars vs. Campbell County Camels
The Viborg/Hurley Cougars lost against the Campbell County Camels back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Viborg/Hurley had to suffer through a rough 62-23 loss at the hands of Campbell County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Viborg/Hurley has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Campbell County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Kuhbacher, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Payge Riedesel, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Viborg/Hurley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Campbell County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Viborg/Hurley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wessington Springs at 11:00 a.m. on December 29th. Wessington Springs is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Campbell County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rapid City Christian at 8:00 a.m. on December 29th. Rapid City Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 29th in South Dakota, while Campbell County is ranked fifth in Wyoming).
