Basketball Game Preview: Wakefield Trojans vs. West Point-Beemer Cadets

The Wakefield Trojans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the West Point-Beemer Cadets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wakefield has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while West Point-Beemer will come in with four straight victories.

Wakefield came up short against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Thursday, falling 56-36.

Meanwhile, West Point-Beemer's game on Tuesday was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Pierce with a 40-35 win.

Wakefield better keep an eye on Allie Kaup. She was instrumental in West Point-Beemer's win, going 7 of 11 on her way to 17 points along with six boards and five blocks. The contest was Kaup's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Mia Hunke was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 12 rebounds and three blocks.

West Point-Beemer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points per game. As for Wakefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
