Baseball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Coalfield

The Coalfield Yellow Jackets were able to grind out a solid victory over the West Greene Buffaloes on Saturday, taking the game 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellow Jackets.

Luke Treece was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Knox Pemberton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Coalfield pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Greene, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.

Coalfield has already played their next match, a 10-0 win against Chuckey-Doak on the 12th. As for West Greene, they will venture away from home to square off against Hampton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
