Preview: Albany Warriors vs. Worth County Tigers

Albany and Worth County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Albany Warriors have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Worth County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Albany didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Gilman City, but they still walked away with a 52-47 victory. The victory was just what Albany needed coming off of a 60-38 defeat in their prior matchup.

Meanwhile, Worth County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They were the clear victor by a 71-48 margin over King City. Given Worth County's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while King City is ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Worth County relied on the efforts of Caleb New, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds, and Tyler New, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which New has scored at least 25% of Worth County's points. Cole Ruby was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.

Maysville's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Albany's loss dropped theirs to 1-3.

Albany strolled past Worth County in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 65-48. Does Albany have another victory up their sleeve, or will Worth County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
