Softball Recap: Lisle Takes a Loss

Lisle extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 3-3 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Edward Green Wave. The game marked the first time this season in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Megan Bradley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Lisle saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was McKenna Riley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Riley has snagged this season.

As for St. Edward, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 10, 2024.

On St. Edward's side, not much got past Alaina Nolan, who gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep Lisle off the board.

At the plate, Sarah Gurley and Layne Dawson did most of the damage at the plate: Gurley went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Dawson went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Lisle has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Peotone on the 14th. As for St. Edward, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Marian Central Catholic on the 14th.
