The South Lake Eagles will challenge the Boone Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Friday just wasn't the day for South Lake's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Umatilla on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

N Mclees was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, South Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boone). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Dr. Phillips last Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Braves as they're now sitting on four straight.

Leo Reina tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

At the plate, CJ Nassar was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Rhys Woodrow was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Boone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Boone's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for South Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
