Basketball Recap: Howell Takes a Loss

Howell was the 52-43 winner over Northville when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Howell Highlanders took a 65-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northville Mustangs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Highlanders came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Mustangs are ranked 131st).

Howell's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Northville, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Howell will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Holly at 2:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Howell has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three matches. Northville and Dearborn will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th. Dearborn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Northville likes a good challenge.
