Jalen Wallace leads Carnegie to victory over Wewoka

Recap: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Wewoka Tigers

Even though the Wewoka Tigers scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, the Carnegie Wildcats still came out on top. Carnegie strolled past Wewoka with points to spare, taking the game 75-57. Given Carnegie's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Wewoka is ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jalen Wallace was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 assists. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddie Mandrell, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Carnegie is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Wewoka, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Carnegie will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Temple at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Temple is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. Wewoka will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
