Avon Lake entered their tilt with Normandy on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Invaders a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Shoremen, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Bailey Thibeault, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Normandy off the board. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Thibeault.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Hicov, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Grant LeHoty, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Avon Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Avon Lake pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Normandy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
