Preview: Webber Tigers vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
After two games on the road, Webber is heading back home. They will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Monday, Webber suffered a rough 53-33 loss at the hands of Wheatland-Chili. Webber has struggled against Wheatland-Chili recently, as their contest last Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Notre Dame can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 62-55 win over Akron. Given Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Akron is ranked 339th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jaden Sherwood continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Antinore, who scored six points along with seven steals and six assists.
Webber dropped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Notre Dame, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Webber took a serious blow against Notre Dame when the teams last played back in January, falling 88-33. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Webber was down 45-11.
