Volleyball Game Preview: Northern Guilford Nighthawks vs. Kings Mountain Mountaineers

The Northern Guilford Nighthawks will venture away from home to square off against the Kings Mountain Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Northern Guilford sitting on 17 straight victories and Kings Mountain on 24.

It was a classic North v. South duel when Northern Guilford challenged Southeast Guilford on Thursday. The Nighthawks put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 3-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Kings Mountain had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Asheville on Thursday.

Kings Mountain never let Asheville on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16, 25-20.

Kings Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 32-1. As for Northern Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 22-2.
