Volleyball Recap: Montgomery Central Comes Up Short

If Montgomery Central was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cheatham County Central last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians fell just short of the Fairview Yellowjackets by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Montgomery Central actually scored more points across those five sets (105-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-16, 28-26, 19-25, 15-13.

Fairview can attribute much of their success to Layla Curtis, who had 17 digs and one assist.

Montgomery Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fairview, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.

Montgomery Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairview, they will face off against Creek Wood at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
