Colville will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Lakeside extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. Everything went the Eagles' way against Riverside as they made off with an 11-1 win. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Lakeside let Kannon Almond and Jonah Starr run wild. Almond went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Starr went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Lakeside is 5-2 when Starr posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Mason Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Lakeside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contest, Colville brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past Medical Lake 11-1 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Crimson Hawks have posted against the Cardinals since May 6, 2023.
Gunnar Baker tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
On the hitting side, Luke Bateman was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jet Bateman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Lakeside's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Colville, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-7.
Colville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lakeside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. It's a different story for Colville, though, as they've only averaged .253. Will they be able to contain Lakeside's hitters?
Everything went Lakeside's way against Colville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Lakeside made off with a 14-4 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Crimson Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
