Soccer Recap: Governor's Academy Comes Up Short

Governor's Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lawrence Academy Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Governor's Academy of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Governor's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8-1. As for Lawrence Academy, they moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-match losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Governor's Academy will face off against rival Roxbury Latin at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lawrence Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe St. Sebastian's School at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
