Basketball Recap: Malden Takes a Loss

Malden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Portageville Bulldogs. The Green Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Malden's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Portageville, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9.

Malden has already played their next game, a 72-51 loss against Kennett on the 31st. As for Portageville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-52 win against Cooter on the 30th.
