Preview: Ida Crown Jewish Academy Aces vs. Providence-St. Mel Knights

The Ida Crown Jewish Academy Aces will head out on the road to challenge the Providence-St. Mel Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ida Crown Jewish Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Ida Crown Jewish Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Non Varsity Opponent, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory.
Ida Crown Jewish Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ilana Schwartz, who scored 22 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Schwartz has scored at least a third of Ida Crown Jewish Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordana Zwelling, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Providence-St. Mel's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Our Lady of Tepeyac and snuck past 23-21. The win was just what Providence-St. Mel needed coming off of a 70-12 defeat in their prior match.
Ida Crown Jewish Academy pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Providence-St. Mel, their win bumped their record up to 1-5.
Everything came up roses for Ida Crown Jewish Academy against Providence-St. Mel in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 44-8 win. With Ida Crown Jewish Academy ahead 34-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
