Basketball Game Preview: Holton Wildcats vs. Royal Valley Panthers

Holton and Royal Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Holton Wildcats take on the Royal Valley Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Holton will be strutting in after a victory while Royal Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

Holton is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Riley County on Tuesday, sneaking past 50-47.

Bodie Dillon was nothing short of spectacular: he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Korben Fox was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Royal Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Riley County.

Royal Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-2. As for Holton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Holton beat Royal Valley 42-33 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Holton repeat their success, or does Royal Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
