Union Grove Christian extended their winning streak to six on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 10-4 in the process. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Vandalia Christian Vikings. Ten seems to be a good number for the Patriots as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

As for Vandalia Christian, their record now sits at 9-5. Vikings fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Union Grove Christian since on Saturday.

For Vandalia Christian's part, Nate Collins put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Collins has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Vandalia Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Jacob Baynes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

Looking ahead, Union Grove Christian is taking a road trip to face off against Liberty Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.82 runs per game on average), something Union Grove Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Vandalia Christian, they will be playing at home against Alamance Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
