Basketball Recap: Community Christian Takes a Loss

Community Christian lost against Young Americans Christian on January 6th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Community Christian Knights had to suffer through a 88-57 loss at the hands of the Young Americans Christian Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly 31 points.

Young Americans Christian was led to victory by Damian Crawford and Joshua Poole. Crawford went 10 for 21 en route to 29 points along with six boards and five assists, while Poole dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. Nick Holloway was another key player, putting up 16 points and three steals.

Community Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Young Americans Christian, their record now sits at 10-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Community Christian will take on Creekside Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Creekside Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups. As for Young Americans Christian, they will square off against New Creation Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Young Americans Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.7 points per game this season.
