Basketball Recap: Champion Comes Up Short

Champion played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Lakeview Bulldogs and fell 58-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Golden Flashes have suffered against the Bulldogs since December 5, 2015.

Mackenzie Braham was Champion's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Braham also led the team in rebounds with eight. Kennedy McKee took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Lakeview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sienna Terry, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Kalyssa Werner was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Champion's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Champion is taking a road trip to face off against Pymatuning Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeview, they will welcome Howland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
