Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

First Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Bible Baptist Christian Eagles, falling 64-39.

Bible Baptist Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mikahil Mathieu, who went 5 of 6 en route to 10 points in addition to six steals and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Mathieu a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Michael Greene, who posted 20 points.

First Baptist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bible Baptist Christian, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.

First Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Colonial Christian at 4:00 p.m. on February 11th. Bible Baptist Christian has already played their next match, a 59-55 victory against Central Christian Academy on the 30th.
