Softball Recap: Boyd County Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Boyd County finally came back down to earth on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (12-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They have struggled against the Musketeers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Boyd County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyli Kouns, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Kouns also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Boyd County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Greenup County, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Boyd County will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Johnson Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenup County, they will challenge Menifee County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greenup County is facing Menifee County at the right time seeing as Menifee County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
