Baseball Game Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

The Horizon Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Frederick Golden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Silver Creek hit Horizon with a seven-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raptors.

Horizon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Baylor Schamberger was another, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Frederick faced off against Broomfield on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Golden Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Frederick also got a good showing from Isaac LeFevre, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Dom LeFevre was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Frederick's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
