Basketball Recap: Palatka Starts off Right with Win over Keystone Heights

Palatka took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Keystone Heights Indians 65-27. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 35 point advantage.

Leading Palatka to victory were Bradley Holcy and Tommy Offord. Holcy dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards, while Offord went 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dequan Jackson, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Keystone Heights lost, don't look at Dereon Tochterman. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 16 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Keystone Heights' loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Palatka wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-25 defeat against St. Augustine on the 5th. As for Keystone Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-52 loss against Chiefland on the 6th.
