Baseball Recap: Mt. Carmel Takes a Loss

Mt. Carmel lost against Effingham back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Golden Aces fell just short of the Hearts by a score of 9-7.

River Deisher was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Mt. Carmel has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Effingham, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Coming up, Mt. Carmel will challenge Massac County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Effingham, they are taking a road trip to square off against Farina South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
