Football Recap: Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Comes Up Short

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech was the 24-14 winner over Holy Cross when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams were beaten by the Crusaders 54-22 on Saturday. The Rams were down 41-14 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myles Koser, who threw for 241 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Koser has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another receiver making a difference was Blake Sponenberg, who picked up 137 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Holy Cross, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech will face off against Jenkintown at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams will be up against the Drakes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Holy Cross, they will be playing at home against Holy Redeemer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Royals will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
