Gonzaga Prep and Mt. Spokane are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. The Bullpups are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Spokane took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Gonzaga Prep, who comes in off a win.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Gonzaga Prep and Shadle Park have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Bullpups put the hurt on the Highlanders with a sharp 3-0 win. The Bullpups haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Gonzaga Prep was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-14, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Mt. Spokane faced Lewis & Clark in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-17 in the first set.

Mt. Spokane was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lewis & Clark work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-19, 27-25, 22-25, 15-10.

Mt. Spokane's loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Gonzaga Prep, their win bumped their record up to 21-1.

Gonzaga Prep beat Mt. Spokane 2-0 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Bullpups repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
