Volleyball Recap: Newfield Beats North Babylon for Their Sixth Straight Win

Newfield barely beat North Babylon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Wolverines, who have now won six matches in a row.

While Newfield won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-5, 25-19.

Lily Kolasinski was nothing short of spectacular: she had five digs, four aces, and one block. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Kolasinski wasn't the only good servers: Newfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matchups.

Newfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for North Babylon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Newfield and North Babylon will both be playing Connetquot the next time they take the court. The Wolverines will head out to face the T-Birds at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 4:15 p.m. on October 14.
