Soccer Game Preview: North Fort Myers vs. Mariner

The North Fort Myers Red Knights will square off against the Mariner Tritons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Fort Myers comes in on three and Mariner on nine.

North Fort Myers' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Gulf Coast as North Fort Myers made off with an 8-0 win. The Red Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Gulf Coast with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hannah Busenbark (4), Sophia Quartuccio (2), Jaelyn Hoefer, and Bailey Root.

Meanwhile, Mariner earned a 2-0 victory over Parrish Community on Wednesday. Given the Tritons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Bulls are ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Fort Myers pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those three matches. As for Mariner, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
