Baseball Recap: Centreville Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Centreville's offense. They fell just short of the James Madison Warhawks by a score of 1-0 on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Wildcats let down their fans at home.

Centreville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Wells, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double was Wells' first of the season.

Centreville's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for James Madison, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Centreville is set to challenge their familiar foe South Lakes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, James Madison will square off against rival Chantilly at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warhawks 1, the Chargers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
