Baseball Game Preview: Knightstown Panthers vs. Union County Patriots

The Knightstown Panthers will head out to face off against the Union County Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Knightstown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

Knightstown fell victim to Hagerstown and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Tigers. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this matchup were averaging 3.43 runs allowed.

Meanwhile, Union County got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Union City.

Knightstown's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for Union County, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.

Knightstown came out on top in a nail-biter against Union County when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
