Baseball Recap: Newton South Comes Up Short

Newton South made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lincoln-Sudbury, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly two runs.

Newton South has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Lincoln-Sudbury, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Newton South will face off against Concord-Carlisle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Lincoln-Sudbury, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Boston English at 3:00 p.m. The Warriors will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Eagles will have lost four straight heading into Saturday's matchup.
