Volleyball Recap: Newsome Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

Newsome waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Bradenton Christian Panthers by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Wolves, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Newsome had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Bradenton Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eva James had ten digs and two aces. Alyssa Eurice also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Newsome's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Bradenton Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.

Newsome didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Sickles on the 29th. As for Bradenton Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Sarasota on the 3rd.
