Baseball Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Middletown was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 11-1 to the Clear Lake Cardinals. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Middletown has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season. As for Clear Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Middletown will square off against rival Cloverdale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clear Lake is set to take on their familiar foe St. Helena at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 4.1, the Saints 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
